Been a busy weekend, went to my nieces wedding in Bridgend South Wales on Saturday. Only just got to the Church on time – literally a minute to spare as we accidently or perhaps I should say carelessly went to the wrong Church! Lesson we learned was to read the invitation correctly. The Church we went to was called St Mary’s and the Church we should have gone to was also called St Mary’s! Just happened to be a few miles between them. But at least we got there – just!

Today we went to Llandudno for the Victorian Extravaganza – a weekend of nostalgia. Cars, lorries, buses, tractors from a bygone era, fair rides and stalls and other activities around the town. Managed to take about 170 photos, bore my children by saying ‘my dad used to have one of those’ or I remember going to school on a bus like that’, but who cares I am just grateful that there are individuals who have managed to keep the older vehicles running and willing to take them to shows like this for folk like me to go and enjoy. It’s our heritage for us to enjoy.

It’s a shame that people and politicians don’t have the same concern for our Christian heritage. Instead of being proud of it recognising that we need it they have over the last few years eroded it away and they wonder what has gone wrong with society! The present politicians think we can manage without God some even denying his existence but one day they will realise how wrong they have been.
